About the Role

The Marketing & Communications Intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit storytelling, digital engagement, and brand building. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, communications, media, or public relations who want to learn how mission-driven organizations connect with communities.

What You’ll Learn

Requirements

  • Nonprofit marketing strategy and digital outreach


  • Social media planning and content development


  • Brand storytelling and impact messaging


  • Basic analytics and engagement tracking

What You’ll Do (with supervision)

  • Assist with drafting social media content and captions


  • Support newsletter and email communications


  • Help brainstorm campaign ideas and outreach strategies


  • Review engagement data and reflect on what’s working

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled college student (marketing, communications, media, or related field preferred)


  • Interest in nonprofit work, youth empowerment, or social impact


  • Strong written communication skills


  • Willingness to learn and take feedback

Academic Credit & Support

Chicago Emerging Stars is happy to support students seeking college credit for their internship. We will complete required paperwork, provide learning objectives, and participate in evaluations as needed by your institution.
