About the event
At Chicago Emerging Stars, we believe in showing up for our community—especially during the holiday season. Our Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway is more than a meal; it’s a movement rooted in compassion, gratitude, and giving.
Taking place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, this event will be held at the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Library (415 E. 79th St, Chicago, IL), where we’ll be distributing over 150 frozen Butterball turkeys to local families facing food insecurity.
This tradition was inspired by our founder, Jaqueza Thomas, who once received a donated turkey as a child and now, through Chicago Emerging Stars, leads this powerful initiative to give back in the same spirit. Through generous community sponsorships and volunteer support, we’re ensuring that families across Chicago can celebrate Thanksgiving with dignity and joy.
Families are encouraged to arrive early—this event is first-come, first-served, and no registration is required.
