One Community. One Goal. Peace.
Peace is not just something we talk about. It is something we have to build together. On Friday, July 24th, 2026, Chicago Emerging Stars was proud to partner with the 6th District Youth Advisory Council for the 6th District Peace Rally, a youth-led community event centered on peace, unity, safety, and positive change.
This rally was created by youth, for youth. That matters. Too often, young people are talked about when communities discuss safety, violence prevention, and peace. But they are not always invited to lead the conversation. They are not always asked what they need, what they see, what they feel, or what solutions they believe are possible.
This event created space for something different. It created space for young people to be heard. It created space for young people to be seen. It created space for youth leadership to be taken seriously.
Throughout the day, young people, families, community members, and partners came together for a peace march, food, games, music, activities, connection, and community bonding. But more than anything, the day reminded us that peace is not only about the absence of conflict. Peace is about belonging. Peace is about safety. Peace is about care. Peace is about young people knowing that their lives, voices, and futures matter.
At Chicago Emerging Stars, we believe community change begins when young people are trusted enough to lead. The 6th District Peace Rally reflected that belief in a powerful way. Young people were not just participants. They were part of the purpose. They helped create an event that brought people together around a shared goal. They helped remind the community that youth are not only the future. They are also part of the solution right now.
We were grateful to stand alongside youth, families, partners, and community members who showed up with love and encouragement. Every person who marched, listened, supported, volunteered, played, shared, or simply showed up helped make the day meaningful.
Events like this matter because they show young people what community can look like when people come together with intention. They show that safety is not only built through systems. It is also built through relationships. They show that youth leadership is not just a phrase. It is action. They show that healing and hope can exist in the same space.
At Chicago Emerging Stars, we are committed to creating and supporting spaces where youth are not ignored, underestimated, or spoken over. We believe young people deserve to be part of building stronger, safer, more connected communities.
The 6th District Peace Rally was a reminder of what is possible when youth lead and community responds. Together for peace. Stronger as one. One community. One goal. Peace.
