A Partnership Rooted in Joy: Holiday Toy Drive with the 006th District

The holiday season is a time for joy, connection, and togetherness and at Chicago Emerging Stars, we believe every family deserves to experience that feeling.

This season, Chicago Emerging Stars proudly partnered with the 006th District Community Policing Office to support a Holiday Toy Drive centered on dignity, choice, and community care. Together, through the generosity of our partners and supporters, more than 1,000 toys were distributed to over 300 families across Chicago’s South Side.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was watching children walk into a room filled with toys and being invited to choose for themselves. Youth weren’t rushed or handed pre-selected items; they were given the space to explore, decide, and leave with something that truly brought them joy. That choice mattered. It reflected respect, trust, and care.

This partnership brought together youth, families, community members, and local leaders all moving with the same purpose: to make the holidays feel brighter and more affirming for families who needed it most. It was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when organizations come together with shared values and a commitment to serve.

More than a toy giveaway, this event was about presence and belonging. It was about reminding families that they are seen and supported, and reminding our youth that community love is real, tangible, and powerful.
